Ballerina Love

Even if we don’t want to actually admit to it, we all had a ballerina phase. Some stuck with it until Swan Lake, but everyone else quickly hung up their tutu again on the hanger. And even if you weren’t necessarily a fan of pink, the ballerina-look still always had its charm. This was particularly the case when ballet pumps became streetwise and the flat, comfortable models took over the shoe market. The feminine style with the rounded shape is typical of ballerinas. But even pointed ballerinas are always on trend.

Ballerinas are back!
For many years, ballerinas have been the perfect transitional shoe between Spring and Summer. But they have also made it onto the catwalks of many fashionable designers. They are made from a wide variety of materials, such as velvet, and they of course, have lots of eye-catching details such as decorative rhinestones or bows. But ballerinas with rhinestones do not necessarily make for a girly look. Combined with relaxed, worn jeans and rock’n’roll inspired details such as a cap and a bandana tied around your ankles (an absolute must-have this season), you can create a really relaxed, individual look! And that’s without the Swan Lake ambition.

Rock'n'Roll and ballerinas?
Even the materials have evolved, with pink ballet pumps rarely found nowadays. Instead, you can achieve the perfect break from your usual style with black leather ballerinas. Together with a bright red leather skirt, your favourite band T-Shirt and the typical rock’n’roll checked shirt, you can easily put together an unexpectedly rock-inspired look.

For a long time now, ballerinas have not just been exclusively for the stage - they can also be perfectly integrated into everyday outfits and can do a lot more than simply emphasizing a feminine look.
